...waiting room at Kaiser Oakland...
...there is no drinking fountain. If you want water, you have to ask for it at the desk and then someone will go through the secure entrance to the ER patient staging area and bring you a small glass of ice water. But this will only happen if you are thirsty enough to ask.

Thu, July 2, 2009 - 4:02 PMOne toilet. That's it. At least it has one of those emergency rip-cords. I didn't pull on it to see if it worked... -

Re: In the ER...
Thu, July 9, 2009 - 3:16 PMI accidentally did that once. I thought it was the light switch. I ran and hid on the other side of the building until the alarm stopped. I don't think anyone suspected anything. -

Re: In the ER...
Mon, September 7, 2009 - 5:58 PMSo much doesn't even get videoed...or if it is, the video evidence is destroyed...or 'disappeared'? The fact is that our politicians treat real human beings as if we are only actors in a TV sitcom. And if the show is cancelled, it never was really important? -

Re: In the ER...
Fri, September 18, 2009 - 7:57 AMactually the reason for no easy access to drinking water is for those waiting to be admitted. If a an x-ray or ct scan is needed you should have nothing by mouth for a period of at least 2 hours. If you need to be pumped or aspirated, then at least 4 hours. That is once you have gone through triage, they might let you have some ice to suck on.
But what gets me is at certain hospitals you can always find a vending machine.... -

Re: In the ER...

Re: In the ER...
Fri, October 2, 2009 - 10:17 AMBad year. Everyone in my family has been sent to the ER this year. Car crashes, slips in the bath tub, kidney stone here, and dangerously high blood pressure. Gaskets are creaky...
