...waiting room at Kaiser Oakland...

...there is no drinking fountain. If you want water, you have to ask for it at the desk and then someone will go through the secure entrance to the ER patient staging area and bring you a small glass of ice water. But this will only happen if you are thirsty enough to ask.

    actually the reason for no easy access to drinking water is for those waiting to be admitted. If a an x-ray or ct scan is needed you should have nothing by mouth for a period of at least 2 hours. If you need to be pumped or aspirated, then at least 4 hours. That is once you have gone through triage, they might let you have some ice to suck on.
    But what gets me is at certain hospitals you can always find a vending machine....
